Riley Rossmo is an artist for Marvel’s Daken – Dark Wolverine along with Matteo Buffagni. This is his first title with Marvel.
Riley has made a name for himself with the mysterious creatures of folk mythology in Proof, written by co-creator Alex Grecian, and Multiple Personality Disorder counter-intelligence agents called Triplets in Cowboy Ninja Viking, written by AJ Lieberman, both titles from Image Comics.
‘Proof’ is the nickname of John Prufrock, a well-mannered, well- dressed agent for The Lodge, a covert organization tasked with managing trouble-making cryptids. Proof also happens to be bigfoot, putting him in sometimes uncomfortable sympathy with the plight of his wild and weird subjects. It’s up to him, his no-nonsense partner Ginger Brown, and colourful cohort at The Lodge, to investigate and neutralize these creatures before they become anything more to the public than merely legendary.
In Cowboy Ninja Viking, a covert unit of agents selected for their multiple personality disorder become rogue assassins and must be taken down by one of their own, leading to unexpected character collisions as they change behaviour mid-conflict.
A graduate of the Alberta College of Art & Design, Rossmo has also created artwork for IDW, ESPN, Skratch and Skratch Magazine, and taught sequential art at ACAD.
He will be signing, sketching and selling original art at the show on October 16, 2011.
